PetS of the Week! Call for more Information!
CHIHUAHUA MIX AND PUREBRED SAMOYED Community Animal Network received a report from a concerned citizen that her neighbors’ dogs were neglected and had rubber bands tied around their muzzles to keep them from barking. The simplest plan we could conceive to rescue the purebred Samoyed and the Chihuahua mix dog was to ask the owner if he wanted the dogs, and if not, have the animals released to the rescuing neighbor. Thank goodness that the simplest plan worked because involving animal control may have landed the dogs at the Costa Mesa Animal Shelter in Huntington Beach and their lives may have become at risk. The two beautiful dogs were released into the “good citizen rescuer’s” custody and we are seeking to find them loving homes. Please call the cell of DiAnna at 949.697.6632 to help. To help support our rescue efforts, memo your tax-deductible donation as Rescue Operations, tax ID 33-0971560 and mail to: Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA, 92658.
COMMUNITY ANIMAL NETWORK
Helped Support Our Troops
It
was a blessing for Pisces the cat that she found a great home
just before Andrew Cohen was shipped off on assignment. Andrew had
called over thirty animal organizations over the last few months without
any luck before being referred to Community Animal Network by the
National Cat Protection Society. Andrews experience is not uncommon for
individuals seeking help for their dogs and cats from The
founder of Community Animal Network, DiAnna Pfaff-Martin heard Andrews
heartfelt story and suggested what turned out to be a winning
plan. “I asked Andrew to e-mail a photo of himself in uniform and plan
to be at our When
the black and white female cat named Pisces arrived at our Russo’s pet
store adoption event, Andrew met William and Sheri Reynolds that were
interested within the first five minutes. Things became complicated when
a couple arrived shortly after with a copy of the web site and their
pre-adoption questionnaire completed wanting to adopt the cat as well.
“We managed to have everyone leave happily with a cat,” says DiAnna
Pfaff-Martin. “The couple that arrived later was just happy that the
military cat was being adopted and delighted in another choice.”
This
animal loving military man just never gave up seeking help to save
Pisces life from entering the uncertainty of the United States Shelter
systems. The happy new pet parents William and Sheri exchanged e-mail
addresses and hand shakes before leaving.
DiAnna Pfaff-Martin spoke with Pisces new pet parent Sheri and she said “The kitty is part of our family now and their five year old daughter Amy has renamed her Captain Nibbles .
