KITTEN NORI (BLACK PANTHER LOOK)

NORI is a female black Bombay type kitty with golden eyes.

Her coat is very soft and shines with a wonderful luster.

Nori’s personality is more reserved than her sister Angel’s. She loves to recline on her perch on the back of her sofa.

When playing is happening she will be the one to respond with great interest, but she is not the one to lead the way.

Both of these sisters are wonderful lap cats.

ANGEL (DILUTED TORTI)

KITTEN

ANGEL has grey and peach coloring.

She that look of a Russian Blue except that she is dappled with pale orange markings. The way her coloring is it looks like she has  eyebrows.

She is inquisitive, and affectionate and loves to run and   jump like all kittens do.

At bedtime Angel will be your best buddy! She loves to snuggle on the covers with you.

Her fur is exceptionally soft and she has a very expressive tail.

KOJI

Flame Point or Balinese

 KOJI

Flame Point Himalayan or Balinese

Koji's cream coat blushes with orange; typical of a Flame Points' color markings, seeming to make his eyes seem so blue. His breed-look is that of a Himalayan or a Balinese cat which are both basically Siamese heritage.

He is a very beautiful sweet and gentle boy. Koji is 38 inches from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail and weighs 15lbs. He is very smart and can open cabinets and drawers to explore, but quickly learns his manners.

He sits on command for his treats, plays fetch with his fuzzy mice and once he gets to know you he will cuddle, too.

Cats by nature are obligate carnivores and he has been eating canned and a raw diet; a canned food diet at the very least for him as dry food upsets his tummy.

He gets along with other cats, but, should be fine in a household alone if he can get lots of attention.

Gigi, and her Kittens

Nori & Angel

Tortoiseshell, Diluted Tortoiseshell, & Black Bombay Type

Gigi is the mother cat who had the two four week old kittens, Angel and Nori. Gigi is about ten months to a year old. She is very slim and elegant – we call her our fancy dancer because she is so pretty and active. She twirls around the house and is the Empress of all she surveys.

Angel is the blue and cream tortoiseshell female kitten. She is the momma’s girl and is almost always playing with Gigi. They often sleep arm in arm.

Gigi is a
Tortoiseshell kitty, with mostly black whiskers and just one that is a light color. She loves loves loves her kittens! She is very tame and friendly to humans as well. She is adaptable with other cats but will make her own wishes known. At her age she is very trainable and correctable. She is very affectionate.

Nori is Gigi’s black Bombay type female kitten. She was born with Angel around May 20th, and is now 3 months old.

Angel has very pretty markings with “eyebrows” of orangey coloring over her eyes.

Angel has the same elegant body form as her mother, with a delightful tail often expressing a question mark.

Nori is more independent, very adventurous and clever, sweet and affectionate.

Bee Toe & Kittens

Tortoiseshell, Orange, Grey, & Black

Bee Toe is Gigi’s sister, and they are almost identical tortoiseshell cats. Bee Toe is named this because her colors of black and orange are so much like those of a bumblebee.

\

On July 6th, in the early morning hours, Bee Toe had five babies. This was a large litter for Bee Toe, and although she had had excellent support and nutrition, one of the babies was not as large as the others. This one, Stormy, eventually did not make it. The other four, though, are tremendously healthy and strong. The other kittens are named Julius Caesar, Smudge, Orange Roughy, and Cloud.

. Orange Julius is a light orange tiger boy with a medium hair fur coat, and his eyes look like they are going to be green or amber.

Orange Julius is the first kitten of this family you would ever meet, because he is always out front prancing around, keeping track of the entire family, or climbing and playing. He is the alpha male of the group.

Smudge is as active as Julius, and he is a handsome black tiger boy. He has stripes which you can see if you look closely, and a very pale patch at his throat.

Smudge and Julius are inseparable during playtime. Smudge is going to grow up to be a very handsome and unusual looking cat, with his subtle black tiger coat.

\

Orange Roughy is named after the famous fish from New Zealand.

Orange Roughy is also a pale orange tiger boy, and he is often found a little more in the background. He is playful but not as adventurous as Julius and Smudge.

Cloud has the prettiest face of all the kittens. She is a blue and cream tortoiseshell girl, with a medium hair fur coat. She has delightful markings and very expressive eyes.

Cloud is playful, adventurous, and loves to hang out with her buddy Orange Roughy. She is named Cloud because her patches of creamy orange remind us of the sun peeking out from behind clouds.

Big

Bengal Tabby & White

Neutered Male

The first thing many people notice about Arco is his size. He is a big kitten at heart and he likes being the center of attention.

If you love big, affectionate cats you will love Arco! But, he doesn't want any competition for your love. He wants to be the only cat to love you!

Arco, is loving and playful, and has been described as a “manly man’s cat” due to his alpha male mentality.

He loves to take charge of the house and keep watch from his favorite spot at the window. When he isn’t watching the outside world, he loves to play with feather toys and get petted by his caregiver.

Arco is outgoing and friendly with everyone, even with people he has never met.

Tiffany & Macy

Born In New York City

                 One Year Olds

White & Orange Kitties

This playful brother and sister pair would be a perfect addition to any family. They have been visited by young girls and are comfortable around them, so children would not be a problem for these loving kitties. Although they have been living with four dogs since they were only four weeks old, they have never had full contact with them, so it is uncertain how happy they would be in a home with dogs. Macy loves to play with pink thread from his caregiver’s hat all day long, and shows his mischievous side by jumping to turn light switches on and off. Tiffany is a huge fan of wine corks, and will chase them around the house every chance she gets. While both kitties are extremely friendly, Tiffany is especially sweet and flirtatious towards males. Both Tiffany & Macy are happiest when their caregiver gives them their wheat grass plant. They go crazy with happiness even just seeing it! Although they are a bit shy in the beginning, once Tiffany & Macy get accustomed to a new visitor, they follow them around the house and are eager to play and get affection from them.

Macy

Very Curious and Friendly. Loves to Watch The Birds From the Window. Makes Chirping Sounds When

Mushu & Khan

BEST FRIENDS

Named after the Disney characters

The two try to hide under their pillow at the adoption event  because they are afraid of the squawking parrot.

Mushu

Orange and White

Neutered male

Mushu "copy cats" his brother's outgoing social personality, but really, Mushu is quite shy.

If his brother Khan jumps on his caregiver's lap, then so does Mushu!

What Mushu lacks in gregariousness he makes up for with his loud purr when being helped.

Khan

Orange Marble Tabby

Neutered male

Khan is a cheerful kitten, very sure of himself, and the leader. He seeks out affection, even if he has to climb a pant leg to get it!

Khan also plays with the little older kittens named Happy. the white and orange kitten rescued from the same location.

Brotherly love!

In Memory of Stormy

Born on the 6th of July, Stormy was a brave little fellow. He was born blind and never was able to see. He had severe neurological issues and great difficulty in walking. His mom cat Bee-toe loved and cleaned him for as long as she could. Nature told her that it was best to help the others and though Stormy’s humans stepped up to hand feed him, they made the difficult decision to put Stormy to sleep. Dr. Wexler was as gentle a Vet as could be wished and Stormy passed peacefully in the hands of his humans.Chris and Fred are sad for Stormy,
but
happy for the healthy siblings Orange Roughy, Smudge, Cloud, and Orange Julius and the wonderful mom Bee-Toe.

Jordan, Darling & Scarlett

Black & White Cats

People in Orange County that dial 2-1-1 on their phones will reach a 24 hour referral system for those in need of human services. Community Animal Network was there to help when three kitty’s owner was forced to leave his residence.

The kitties were well-loved by a single man.

Jordan & Darling

Darling and Jordan would be best suited in a home without children or dogs and someone who is available to engage them in interactive play with their toys.

Scarlett

Scarlett has the smallest white mark on her nose. She is the chubbiest out of the three. She is incredibly affectionate and wants to be pet all the time. She will rub up against you often. She can usually be found in the exact same spot so she's usually very easy to find. She is not a good climber and does not climb very much. She is the least graceful and often falls when she tries to climb or jump onto something. She is very shy at first and is easily scared, but gets very excited when being pet. She bonds with others slowly and doesn't like strangers right away.

Scarlett follows you all over the house seeking your attention. Very dog like.

However, Scarlett is slow to adjust to change in a new home but then blossoms with trust and love.

Darling

Darling has a thin white stripe on her nose. She is the only one of the three with all black eye lashes. Darling is the most independent, brave, and the most curious of the three. She doesn't usually have many problems with strangers and she adapts the quickest to changes in her environment. She requires the least amount of attention as she tends to entertain herself. Like the other two cats, she enjoys enjoys being pet and will generally stay in one place for a long time as long as she is being pet. She loves sitting by windows, exploring, and is the most unpredictable and you will often come home to find her laying on her back or in other adorable positions in various parts of the room. She has even been found sitting on top of an open book, as if reading, and surfing the internet on her caregiver's laptop.

She will usually come greet you when you first get home for a minute or two before leaving to go do her own thing. She also likes to sleep in hard to find places and likes to climb high places like tables, bookshelves, etc.

Jordan

Jordan's right eye has been injured prior to rescue.

Never-the-less, she is loveable despite her eyes cloudy appearance.

Jordan has the thickest white stripe on her nose and has all white eyelashes. She is the only cat with white eyelashes. As you know, she has one slightly grey eye but doesn't appear to have any sight problems. She has the longest and prettiest whiskers. Jordan's personality is the most ideal. She is the most relaxed of the three, but also enjoys playing the most. She will greet you when you get home and try to stay near you for as long as you're in the room. Unlike Darling and Scarlett, Jordan chooses to sleep on the bed every night. She will also lay with you on the couch while you watch TV. She will often sit on your lap or attempt to when you're seated in one place for a while. She sleeps a lot and loves to lay around. She seems most likely to get along with any other cats. Unlike the other two, Jordan will generally only cry out when she wants to be pet and has learned the command "Down."

Jordan loves to play the most. String, fishing rods, and wand toys will send her into a frenzy and she can play for a long time. She loves chasing things more than the other two. She really loves toys.

Meet Lady Luck

Lady Luck

Lady Luck was so hungry when she was found that she had walked straight into an animal trap just to eat.

A cat trapper was trying to trap another cat, but captured Lady Luck in the process. The other cat was trapped, neutered and released. Petrified and starving, Lady Luck was rescued, but she still needs a loving home.

Caregiver: Cindy Dote

Lady Luck is very nice and affectionate. Due to the nature of how she was rescued, she would do best in a home with adults and no children/dogs.

Sabina's personality is well-suited for an adult home that would enable her personality to blossom with her caregiver.

She loves to lie in the sun at a window and watch the birds or things going on outdoors.

She has a cat tree on a balcony with a view of the trees where she loves to retreat and watch the birds bustle about in the trees.

ADOPTION  SPOTLIGHT

SABINA

2 years old

Very Petite Kitten-like with a Cute Black Button Nose!

Sabina lives with other cats at this time but is independent of the others.

It is thought because Sabina had a brother named Chaplin who was very outgoing and played rough and tumble with her  like many young boy kittens do. But, she never liked it and was constantly defending herself in rough play so she sought refuge.  She has learned to retreat to enjoy her independence.

She grows to love and  bond with her caregiver and but she would be considered shy of strangers.

The perfect home for her is someone who really knows and understands cats and how they blossom after time with someone they love.

It takes her about a month to transition comfortably into a new home environment.

She purrs and head bumps her head against your hand when you become her trusted caregiver.

She plays independently with toy mice and will play with an interactive wand toy with her caregiver.

OLD NEWS BUT NEWS WORTHY

ALL HAVE FOUND HOMES

Organization: Community Animal Network

Beautiful  white Siamese we call Juliette & her 13 kittens were rescued from shelters death row. By law nursing mom cats with babies under 2lbs need only be held 5 days before being destroyed.

StoryRescued From Orange County Animal Care Center's  Death Row

The beautiful young Siamese-look momma cat that we have called Juliette certainly met her Romeo! Her “thirteen” Siamese-look kittens were just two week old when Community Animal Network rescued the cat family from the Orange County Animal Care Center .

“In the history of Community Animal Network we have never witnessed, or even heard of a mom cat having over ten kittens”, says DiAnna Pfaff-Martin the founder. Thirteen kittens were just too many for Juliette's little body to support. Bottle feeders and critical support care was needed in order to save them. The tiny five and a half pound momma and her thirteen kittens became ill after rescue with the common shelter cold that claimed the lives of five of the babies. Thanks to the care of Dr. Elaine Wexler-Mitchells' "Cat Care Clinic of Orange" and the kittens' caregiver the surviving kittens  are thriving.

Momma Juliette along with her eight blue eyed kittens of Siamese descents; include four “Foreign White Siamese-looks”, two “Snowshoe Siamese-looks”, one “Chocolate Point Siamese-looks” and one “Blue Point Siamese-look”. Oriental breeds are known to be very affectionate, highly intelligent and have bold personalities and combined with additional lovable qualities after being bottle-fed.

Adoption Fee: $ 350.00 placement fee has advantages with adopting in pairs and we have a mom and baby adoption special to consider. Animals are raised in loving homes, spayed and neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and have flea treatment. Kittens are implanted with an AVID microchip implant and the chip registration fee is paid. A 30 day health plan and a 30 day return policy along with a 30 minute pet-parenting class is given to add value to your adoption.

Get involved! Save lives by becoming a foster parent! Lives depend on the public volunteering! Call 949.533.0411 or donate to our local animal ministry. Memo Tax ID 33-0971560 on your check and mail to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA,

VET MEDICAL RESCUE NEWS

Organization: Community Animal Network

Our Wonder Kitten

Was Adopted!

Wonder is a male Tabby kitten that has the look of the popular Main Coon. He waited several months to become a candidate for eyelid reconstructive surgery. This necessary operation was performed by The Eye Care for Animals in Tustin. The surgery eliminated the lashes rubbing on his corneas due to a birth defect. The lashes created discomfort and irritation that would have ultimately caused scarring and lead to blindness. Donations covered Wonder’s necessary fourteen-hundred ($1400.00) surgery to save his vision

Two other cats this Fall with the same genetic in utero defect have been helped. Six year old Sierra was adopted just before her surgery and her pet-parent reports a remarkable difference even in her personality once relieved of the pain, but unfortunately has loss all site in one eye. Three year old jet a black cat has also successfully undergone eyelid reconstruction.

If you or someone you know could help other animals in need memo non-profit tax ID 33-0971560 and mail a check to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA, 92658.

We thank all of you that donated to help Wonder. Without your gifts many lifesaving surgeries would not be made possible.
