JOB DESCRIPTION:
Interview and write about animal rescue
situations that are received on our rescue phone lines. Digitally
photograph*, or accept digital photography of the animals or
housing that is affected via email for project.
* Some interviews require travel to the
Orange County caller’s location, while other situations could have
phone interviews and digital photos submitted by the
caller.
Many life-stories are tragic and when
published on our web site
www.animalnetwork.org and in our e-publication “The Animal
Report”, someone could care enough to adopt, donate, or
provide the foster care needed to save lives.
DUTIES
• Select Topics With The Guidance Of The
Publisher / Editor
• Research Rescue Subjects and Interview
Editor for Rescue Solutions
• Set-up in and Format Article and Photos
with Web Software Ready to Publish
• Bi-Weekly Satellite Meetings by Phone
/ email text proof copy
• In-office Weekly - paid hourly at $8.00
(flexible scheduling)

position articles
• E-Publish Articles to E-database
• Interview Animal Caregivers and Write Pet
Bios for Web site
• Assist with Creation of Other Materials and
Topic Publications.
SKILLS NEEDED
• Strong, professional oral and written
communication and interpersonal skills
• Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Photoshop,
HTML and other digital publishing tools is a plus.
• Use of personal vehicle may be required for
local interviews. Mileage paid with mileage log.
Currently
not enough people volunteer or donate relative to the amount of
calls and funds available. Your writing skills could make a
difference in an animal’s life.

a positive result (donations and/or adoptions) through publishing
news stories and human interest stories hoping that people will
help.
