 Where Are Our Pets-In-Public Events? 

Fashion Island , Newport Center , Newport Beach in front of Russo’s pet store. Directions:  From 405; Exit Mac Arthur Blvd. Go towards ocean. Turn Right on San Miguel. The road dead ends at the center. Park by Macy’s. Enter the center between Macy’s and The Mac Computer store. See the carousel on left and Traditional Jewelers ahead keep walking until the jewelry store is on your on right and then you can see us halfway down the hall outside in front of Russo’s Pet Experience. WEEKENDS ONLY. See Map of shopping center:

 Event hours: Saturdays and Sunday’s noon – 4:00 pm ( Rain or Shine)

 Do I have to bring my pet every week? No. Reserve Cage Space by Wednesday of Each Week.

 Do I have to stay all day with my cat? It Is Advised If You Want to Place Your Cat Quickly. People often overlook animal’s that are there alone. Besides they are frightened without you and the first day is tough for all cats. They don’t; understand that they are safe and are fearful. Some very nice cats can hiss the first day.    

Can you take my cat? Unfortunately not. We have no kennel. We advertise and promote animals needing new homes through a wide spectrum of advertising and pets in public showings. We have a one-hundred percent adoption rate for those whose owners participate at the public events. .

 How long does it take to find a new home? We cannot guarantee a time. But we can say that purebred animals, declawed cats and kittens are usually chosen first. Popular colors of cats are orange and calico.

 How will I know my pet gets a good home? You will meet the new pet parents by phone or in person. Meeting the people gives your heart and mind closure and supports that you did do the right thing. You can exchange phone numbers or emails and choose to drive the animal to their house if you choose. 

 Do you place animals with behavior problems? Yes. The most common behavior problems are with cats that wee-wee because they are unhappy in their current home. Animals can become unhappy when living with new baby or another animal.  To confirm the animal does not have a medical condition we must have you provide us with urinalysis results to confirming it is a behavior problem. Sometimes the solution is a simple treatment of a urinary tract infection.

Do you place senior cats over ten? Yes with a veterinarians letterhead which would summarize a senior blood panel and urinalysis results to confirm that there are no preexisting health conditions. No one wants to adopt a vet bill! Therefore, we suggest not demand that the current pet-parent negotiate with an interested party and offer to pay for a designated amount of diagnostics at a particular animal hospital for a certain amount of time, or the animal's life-time. "Goodwill" negotiating veterinarians bills increases the chances of the animal getting adopted quickly and having a lifetime home.

Parties and Purpose

This contract signifies a placement service agreement between you and the ANIMAL NETWORK OF ORANGE COUNTY.

 __________There is a one time $ 75.00 listing service fee per animal to promote your spayed or neutered, non-aggressive pet with our  service. There are no refunds, even if you find a home for your animal on your own or decide to keep the animal. You are authorizing our $ 75.00 listing service fee to be charged which gives you the ability to show your non-aggressive animal unlimited times at our advertised weekend events and a photo listing on our web site. Even though our web site is successfully advertised and viewed animals find homes from our public events and the new pet-parent pays a service fee which includes an educating 30 minute pet parenting class, free physical exam and a 30 day return policy which you are agreeing to abide by. 

 __________ We require a current  FELv / FIV blood panel for cats. Viral testing is important to placing cats into homes with other cats. You may go to your own vet, or we can offer and refer you to one of our contracted veterinarians at no charge.

 ________ When the animal is adopted you are agreeing to honor a 30 day return policy given to the new pet-parent(s) and your written pet summary must detail positive attributes and disclose any behaviors, special needs or home preferences for your cat.  

 ________  We do not have a kennel and you are not relinquishing your animal. Your credit card secures our agreement and insures the animal will not be abandoned or left for any reason with us or your animal will be boarded at your expense and you agree to be responsible for any fees or fines associated with collection or the animal abandonment law. 

 ________ Confirm your animals attendance and reserve a cage space by “Wednesday” of each week. There is a $25.00 no-show or cancellation fee charged if you do confirm and do not cancel your cage reservation by a Friday at noon.

 ________ Be on time as many people come to see an animal on the web site and are anxious to adopt. Our hours are 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday RAIN OR SHINE! There is no obligation to attend every weekend, but to get your animal a new home quickly you need to make time and effort. 

 ________ You may give out “our” business card at adoption. Do NOT give out your phone numbers. However, we may refer you to speak to interested parties that contact us. If you choose to show your animal in public or at your home, you assume all risk for the animals behavior and release from liability and hold harmless Community Animal Network, The Animal Network Of Orange County , Russo’s Pet Experience, Fashion Island Newport Center , or any person, or persons thereby affiliated. 

 ________ If a pet-match is made from any contact or referral from our effort we require that our placement service agreement is completed and our service fee is paid. The contract transfers ownership and the service fee is paid to Animal Network. The terms of our agreement are in writing to protect you, your pet and our organization from liability. Known behaviors will be disclosed and the new pet parents sign and accepts full financial responsibility from that day forward.

 ________ In your absence from an adoption event, you give the ANIMAL NETWORK OF ORANGE COUNTY the authority to select the person whom my pet will live with.

 ________  If for some unforeseen reason you are not available to pick up your pet at 4:00pm. THE ANIMAL NETWORK OF ORANGE COUNTY MAY BOARD YOUR ANIMAL and charge your credit card the available rate.    

_________ It is illegal to abandon an animal. Animal abandonment is punishable by law and a fine up to $500.00. We support animal abandonment laws and will prosecute in a court of law. All legal costs and costs associated with care and maintenance will be recovered.

 ________ We make no guarantees of placement within any period of time. There is no other oral or written agreement.

 I understand that there are risks to handling live animals and being in the presence of dogs and

 cats in close proximity. Animals could bite or scratch without warning. If an animal bites or

 scratches, or any type of  accident occurs resulting in physical or emotional harm I assume full

 and all responsibility for myself my family or friends that may accompany me to an adoption

 event. I will not seek reimbursement for any medical or psychological attention or take any type

 of legal action to seek retribution.
